Unitree G1 vs H2: what is the short answer?
The H2 is the stage lead: about 1.82 m and 70 kg, with a human-scale presence suited to entrances, reveals and hosting. The G1 is the performer: about 1.32 m and 35 kg, agile, easier to transport and well suited to dance groups and photo moments. Many shows use one H2 leading two or three G1s.
Robot Show UAE is a Dubai-based operator that plans, rehearses and runs robot appearances with its own operators, using full-height (Unitree H2 class) and compact (Unitree G1 class) humanoids and robot dogs. It recommends the mix for each event at the brief and replies with a proposal within 24 hours. It is an independent operator, not a Unitree agent.
How we compared them
We judged both robots on the criteria that decide whether an event moment works:
- Stage presence: height and silhouette as seen from the back of a hall or across an exhibition aisle.
- Stamina: battery life per charge and the length of one continuous routine.
- Movement: degrees of freedom (the number of independently moving joints), which shape how expressive a routine can be.
- Logistics: weight and size, which drive transport, set-up time and floor requirements.
- Proximity: how comfortably the robot fits close to guests in supervised photo moments.

The last row is event practice rather than a catalogue figure: dance works the motors at full load, and continuous routines are rated at up to about three minutes (Unitree guidance, September 2026). Longer programmes are built from blocks with rest in between (why routines are about 3 minutes).
Unitree G1: the agile performer
The G1 is the compact member of Unitree's humanoid range. At 1.32 m it stands well below adult eye level, which on the floor tends to read as friendly rather than imposing (our editorial view).
Where it is strong:
- Dance and groups. Light and quick, it suits synchronised routines of two, three or more robots.
- Photo moments. Its height puts it at eye level with guests who crouch for a selfie, and with older children in supervised photos.
- Logistics. At about 35 kg and folding to 690 mm, it is easier to move, set up and store behind a stand.
Where it is limited:
- Presence at distance. In a ballroom or a large hall, a 1.32 m robot can disappear behind a front row of guests unless it performs on a stage.
- Battery. About 2 hours per charge, less with continuous movement, so a long day needs spare batteries and breaks.
- Props. An arm load of about 2 kg limits reveals to light objects.
Unitree also prints a clear warning on the G1 page: "Users are asked to keep a sufficient safe distance between the humanoid robot and people." That is why the G1 performs inside a clear zone, with an operator beside it.
Unitree H2: the stage lead
The H2 is built at human scale: 1.82 m, about 70 kg, with 31 degrees of freedom including a 3-DoF waist and 2-DoF neck, according to Unitree. Its bionic head with facial features gives it a presence the G1 does not have.
Where it is strong:
- Entrances and reveals. Walking into the light, turning to the hall, presenting a product: human scale is visible from the back of the room.
- Hosting. A single H2 at an entrance or on a stand is a clear focal point for delegations and VIP guests.
- Stamina. About 3 hours per charge, with a larger battery.
- Props. Rated arm payload of about 7 kg allows more substantial reveals than the G1.
Where it is limited:
- Weight and logistics. At about 70 kg, transport and set-up take more crew and time, and the floor must be firm and flat.
- Close proximity. A full-height, 70 kg robot needs a wider safety margin; it is not the right choice for close contact with young children.
- Cost. Its list price (US$29,900) is more than double the base G1's (from US$13,500), and a full-height humanoid costs more to hire than a compact one.

Verdict: if you can book only one robot for a formal event, choose the H2 for presence. If the event is about movement, dance or families, choose the G1, and use robot dogs for the youngest guests. For the biggest moment, combine them: one full-height humanoid leading two or three compact humanoids, the mix we usually recommend for a stage show (choosing the mix).
What neither robot does
Both are pre-programmed performers. On stage they run rehearsed routines and do not improvise; a humanoid can play a recorded welcome in Arabic and English but does not hold free conversations (FAQ).
Both also dislike the same conditions: thick carpet, sand, gravel, slopes and direct midday sun. In summer, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation bans outdoor work in direct sun from 12:30 to 15:00 between 15 June and 15 September (MOHRE), which also applies to the crew running an outdoor show. Check the venue requirements before choosing either.
For the youngest audiences, neither humanoid is the first choice: Unitree's Go2 robot dog weighs about 15 kg and stands about 40 cm tall (Unitree Go2), which is why we recommend robot dogs for small children.
How the choice affects price
Most UAE providers do not publish prices. Published market rates collected in our 2026 price guide show about AED 5,000–10,000 a day for a humanoid with an operator in the UAE; these are other companies' advertised rates, not ours. As the price guide notes, a full-height humanoid costs more to hire than a compact one, and a group costs more than a solo.

Is the Unitree H2 taller than a person?
At 1,820 mm standing, according to Unitree, the H2 is at human scale and taller than many adults. The G1 is 1,320 mm, half a metre shorter.
Which lasts longer at an event, G1 or H2?
Unitree lists about 3 hours per charge for the H2 and about 2 hours for the G1. Both run continuous dance routines of up to about three minutes, so event programmes use blocks, breaks and spare batteries.

Do I need the EDU version for an event?
Not usually. Unitree lists secondary development only on EDU versions, which matters to developers; for events, what matters is the operator's rehearsed routines and experience.
